The Sigma Rho chapter was suspended by Beta Theta Pi in September 2017. It was possible that the suspension would end after one year but the national fraternity announced on April 19, 2018 that the chapter will be closed at this time.
The reasons for the closure included several violations of the fraternity risk management policies.

The spring semester was a busy one for the brothers of Sigma Rho and the summer of 2016 so far has been filled with exciting achievements and experiences. As the semester concluded, there is a lot to be proud of at 202 E. Daniel Street. We initiated 27 new brothers into our chapter and pledged 8 more during spring recruitment.

Sigma Rho brother Jordan Williams '18 to receive the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering's ABE 100 Best Overall Award recognizing his work researching with a professor.
On April 25th, Sigma Rho will be holding a fundraiser to support our philanthropy, the Andrew Weishar Foundation. The foundation is named for Andrew Weishar, who before losing his three-year battle with cancer encouraged his loved ones to pay it forward and support families in need. The Weishar Foundation’s mission is to support the families of children and young adults who are battling against cancer.
